managing all your product warranties with your ios or google calendar

so my car battery died on me last week, sad ... I know :(

I went to my local parts store and bought a new one. $110 - this calls for another sad face :(

Now my new battery came with a three year warranty. How am I ever suppost to remember this ?  My solution, a new calendar named "warranties" on my ios devices. For you google calendar users, I'm positive you can have more than one calendar. I believe you can have up to five.

So what I do for each warranty is make a event on the calendar named "car battery" , I made the event start and end in the same day (instead of making it start today and ending in 3 years). The reasoning for this is so it says the name of the event on every day of the calendar instead of showing the event name once and having one very long line connecting for 3 years...

I then make it an "all day event" so it just takes up a small block of the day versus a timed section block, experiment and see what I mean.

Then I made it repeat Daily and End Repeat the day the warranty expires !

And finally the reason why I made it a separate calendar named warranties is so I can un-show it. Let's be honest, who wants to stare at "care battery" event for 1,095 days !!

(tip)
In the Location section of the event you could add where the warranty is from
